Inauguration of the Head of the Central Statistics Agency

Friday, June 25, 2021. The Minister of National Development Planning (PPN)/Head of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) Suharso Monoarfa inaugurated the new Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for the period 2021-2026, namely Margo Yuwono. Margo replaces the Head of BPS for the 2016-2021 period, Suhariyanto, who has entered retirement in 2021.

The inauguration is based on Presidential Decree Number 79/TPA 2021 concerning Dismissal from Main and Middle High Leadership Positions, and Appointment of Main High Executive Officers within BPS.

The Minister of VAT's remarks, BPS challenges are getting bigger because of the demand for quality and diverse data. Therefore, it is a challenge for BPS how to respond to this in a responsive manner, so as to be able to convince respondents that the data they provide to BPS.

Meanwhile, Head of BPS Margo Yuwono said his party was ready to carry out the mandate given. "In carrying out my duties, I will uphold the ethics of the position, work as well as possible and full of responsibility. I will maintain my integrity, not abuse my authority, and avoid despicable acts.
