Reconciliation Update Map of the Work Area Statistics (wilkerstat)

Updating the Statistical Work Area Map (wilkerstat) is one of the activities carried out by BPS in 2019. This activity is carried out in several stages, namely the boundary Geotagging and Infrastructure stage, drawing of analog maps / printouts, editing digital maps, cleaning, dissolving and layouting. From each of these activities it is expected to produce a Wilkerstat Map that is appropriate to the field conditions.

Mapping Reconciliation which was carried out on July 22, 2019, was carried out before the layouting phase, to determine Regency / Municipal boundaries that were still unclear, and also to conduct discussions about the problems found by the provincial BPS from the digitization results of the uploaded Digital Map. This activity was attended by almost all existing BPS districts / cities in North Sulawesi, except BPS Sitaro which did not have sufficient funds to be able to attend. Two employees representing BPS in Kepulaun Sangihe Regency to take part in this activity, namely Stanly Mokodompis, were always the head of the IPDS section and Renald S. Salendah as the staff of IPDS.

In this activity, more boundaries were determined in regencies / cities that had direct borders, whereas for Sangihe Islands Regency bordering the sea, more emphasis was placed on the completeness of the results and attributes on the Digital Map.
