The National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) is a survey conducted by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) specifically designed to collect employment data. Sakernas data results are widely used by various groups, both domestically and abroad. Therefore, the continuity, availability and quality of Sakernas data must be maintained and improved. SAKERNAS is held semiannually, namely Semester I in February and Semester II in August. Until now, Sakernas has experienced various changes in implementation time, estimation level, coverage, and methodology. In August 2020, the questionnaire was refined to adjust the "new normal" conditions during the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. Changes to the questionnaire include:
1. The concept of employment uses the concept of ICLS-13.
2. Add questions related to the impact of Covid-19 on employment
based on ILO recommendations.
3. Simplifying the questionnaire by reducing the number of questions from 65 questions to around 31 questions.
4. Editorial questions are made simple so that they are easily understood by respondents who do the data collection independently.
5. Questions are grouped sequentially based on each topic, i.e. topical work, unemployment, and not the labor force.
In addition to the questionnaire changes, Sakernas in August 2020 also experienced adjustments in the data collection business process. This adjustment was made according to the condition of the Covid-19 pandemic in the enumeration area.
To get quality SAKERNAS data, we need qualified staff as well.
Therefore, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, BPS in the Sangihe Regency continued to carry out the Training of Officers for SAKERNAS Data Collection in August 2020 by way of self-learning face-to-face combination. For face-to-face official training, referring to the health protocol so that this training is divided into 2 waves with a total of 31 PCL and PML staff (21 organic employees and 11 statistical partners), 15 each in Wave I and 16 in the 1st Wave 2, the implementation was on July 27-28, 2020.
