The Central Bureau of Statistics for Sangihe Islands Regency is holding a Complete Enumeration Training for the 2023 Agricultural Census (ST2023) at Tahuna Beach Hotel & Resort. The training activities were held in two waves. The first batch was held on 22 – 25 May 2023 while the second batch was held on 26 – 29 May 2023.
Based on Law Number 16 of 1997, the implementation of the Agricultural Census is the duty and responsibility of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). The Agricultural Census is conducted once every ten years, namely in the year ending in 3 (three). The upcoming Agricultural Census to be carried out in 2023 will be the seventh agricultural census, the first agricultural census carried out in 1963. In the 2023 Agricultural Census, complete data collection activities will be held from June to July 2023.
The 2023 Agricultural Census (ST2023) was carried out to accommodate the variables needed for the completeness of agricultural data to develop very dynamically, answer data needs at both the national and international levels, and is designed to obtain international standard results with reference to the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) program which known as the World Program for the Census of Agriculture (WCA). In order to gain international comparability, the Agricultural Census will be carried out as close as possible to 2020.
Because of the importance of the 2023 Agricultural Census (ST2023), officer training is needed with the aim of providing an understanding of the implementation of the 2023 Agricultural Census (ST2023) to officers who will go directly to the field to carry out data collection.
After the implementation of this training, it is hoped that officers will be able to properly carry out complete data collection on the 2023 Agricultural Census (ST2023) in June - July 2023.
