KSA Corn Officers Training 2019

KSA Corn Officers Training 2019

April 7, 2019 | BPS Activities

The harvesting data collection for both paddy and secondary crops still uses the conventional method using the Agricultural Statistics (SP) questionnaire. Based on this method, the harvest area data collection is still based on the results of the data collector's eyes (eye estimate). Although practically the method is still easy to implement, but the use of the method still has shortcomings. The low accuracy and long data collection time are some of the drawbacks of using this method.
On the other hand, the Indonesian government is currently very aggressively launching programs related to increasing the production capacity of agricultural commodities in an effort to support one of the Nawacita ideals namely the realization of food self-sufficiency in Indonesia. In connection with this, the availability of timely and accurate agricultural data is the foundation for realizing agricultural policies that are targeted, then improving methodology in the collection of agricultural data must be done.
In 2018 food crop statistics were collected using the Area Sample Framework (KSA) method for rice commodities. In 2019, it is deemed necessary to collect data on corn commodities so that the data on food crops produced is more accurate and reliable. North Sulawesi Province also implements the same activities. To achieve optimal results of activities, it is necessary to hold training for KSA Corn officers 2019 North Sulawesi Province.
The training of KSA Corn Farmers 2019 in North Sulawesi Province aims to find out the concepts and definitions of data collection of Area Sample Frameworks and to increase understanding and insight on the data collection of Area Sample Frameworks for Corn commodities. This activity was attended by 97 participants consisting of BPS participants in North Sulawesi Province and District / City and national instructors. The activity was held at Manado Quality Hotel on 7-13 April 2019 which consisted of two waves.
