Abstract

Of the 90 cities monitored by the national CPI, the highest year on year inflation occurred in Tanjung Selor City at 9.11 percent and the lowest occurred in Ternate City at 3.32 percent. The city of Manado experienced deflation of 0.12 percent, while calendar year inflation was 3.64 percent and year on year inflation was 4.65 percent. In terms of month-to-month (mtm) inflation, Manado City ranks 5th for inflation on Sulawesi Island and 47th nationally, while on a yoy basis, Manado City ranks 13th on Sulawesi Island and 84th nationally. .

In October 2022, Manado City experienced a deflation of 0.12 percent due to a decrease in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 112.65 in September 2022 to 112.51 in October 2022. Out of eleven expenditure groups in Manado City, year on year eight the expenditure group experienced an increase in index, namely the transportation group by 27.45 percent, the personal care and other services group by 4.19 percent, the supplies, equipment and routine household maintenance group by 3.40 percent, the food, beverage and tobacco group by 2 .94 percent, the clothing and footwear group by 1.07 percent, the health group by 1.03 percent, the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 0.84 percent and the food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 0. 42 percent. Two expenditure groups experienced a decline in index, namely: the information, communication and financial services group by 2.52 percent and the Recreation, Sports and Culture group by 1.95 percent, while the education group tended to be stagnant.

The biggest contributor to inflation year on year (yoy) in October was air transportation by 1.4245 percent and the biggest contributor to deflation was trevally/tude fish by 0.1648 percent.

The biggest contributor to deflation on a month to month (mtm) basis in October 2022 was cayenne pepper by 0.0998 percent, while the biggest contributor to inflation was gasoline by 0.0614 percent
