Refining the Map, Strengthening the SE2026 Statistical Workload

September 23, 2026 | BPS Activities

The field data collection conducted by SE2026 officers has been completed. It is now time to move on to the data processing stage.

BPS-Statistics Indonesia of Sangihe Islands Regency held the Training for Officers on the Processing of the Establishment of the Geospatial Framework and SE2026 Statistical Workload (Wilkerstat) on September 21–22, 2026, at the BPS-Statistics Indonesia Office of Sangihe Islands Regency.

The training aimed to:

  • Obtain an up-to-date geospatial framework in accordance with the field conditions identified during SE2026.
  • Obtain updated Wilkerstat master data and statistical workload in accordance with the field conditions identified during SE2026.

As an archipelagic region with Local Environmental Units (Satuan Lingkungan Setempat/SLS) distributed across numerous islands, the results of the field updating process need to be carefully processed to ensure that the maps and statistical work areas accurately reflect the latest conditions.

Over the two-day training, officers were equipped with both conceptual understanding and hands-on computer/laptop-based practice covering:

  • Identification and coding of changes to SLS/Sub-SLS based on field findings
  • Processing of building points and geotagging from SE2026
  • Editing and validating digital maps using QGIS
  • Calculation and verification of SLS workloads
  • Data uploading and validation procedures through the Geospatial System (GS)

Through this training, officers are expected to further strengthen their skills in processing maps and Wilkerstat workloads, thereby producing an up-to-date, accurate, and high-quality statistical work area framework to support the smooth implementation of the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026) in Sangihe Islands Regency.
