Fisheries Statistics Survey

July 29, 2025 | BPS Activities

BPS collects fish production data through several approaches, including: Fishing Ports (PP), both those with and without Fish Auction Places (TPI), and Traditional Fish Landing Sites (PIT), where fishermen land their catch in informal locations.

By mid-2025, the Sangihe Islands Regency BPS had collected data on PP/TPI/PIT three times! This data collection involved fishermen, port managers, and active community members. Furthermore, BPS continues to coordinate with the local Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office to ensure the data collected is accurate and useful.
